  • Book Now

This comprehensive three day city highlights tour, is a great way to see the key attractions and monuments in the ancient city of Xi'an. A highlight of the tour is an evening spent enjoying a Dumpling Banquet and Tang Dynasty Music Show.

The Great Mosque

The Great mosque is close to the Islamic street, in the HuaJue lane. It was built a long time ago, dating back 1,200 years ago in the Tang dynasty. In the Ming dynasty, the emperors asked to repair it. Now it is the biggest mosque for the Muslims in Xi'an. You can see the buildings of Chinese traditional style with long and bent eaves, and the old furniture used by the people in the Qing dynasty-300 years ago. The whole mosque looks like a traditional garden, however, it is a really an Islamic mosque that is still used by the Muslims today.

The Muslim Quarter (Night market)

The ethnic minority groups Hui live in the Muslim Quarter. All the Hui people who take up 1% of the population in Xi'an believe in Islam. They open many restaurants in their area, becoming one of the most popular local places in Xi'an. Since the area has been in existence for more than 1,200 years, it is a cultural place of the old city. Every night after 8:00pm, the night market for food begins, and you can experience how people live in Xi'an.

The Terra Cotta Army and Horses museum

The Terry Cotta Army and Horses is one of the most spectacular things in Xi'an. It is one of the burial pits belongs to the mausoleum of the first emperor of the Qin dynasty, Qinshihuang. You can not find a place anywhere else like this where so many soldiers have been standing here and waiting for you for such a long time. The museum has built several modern buildings in which contain the excavation work sites. Three pits have been discovered. They were named pit 1, pit 2 and pit 3 by order of discovery. In pit one, you can see the main part of the army, although most part of the pit is still underground. In pit 2 and pit 3, you can find the other parts of the whole underground army. All of the Terra-cotta Warriors are believed to represent the real Qin army soldiers. Each one is different, having varied kinds of faces, expressions, even the hair and moustache styles. The works of Terra-cotta Warriors are nearly as tall as a real person, from 1.78m to 1.97m tall, with different weights and sizes.

City wall

This ancient city wall which was built in 1370 to 1378 still encircles the old city today. It is 13.7 kilometres long with 17 gates on the wall. Xi'an city wall is the most complete city wall in the world. We built it as a defence in ancient times and the city wall has remained standing through three wars. Since the top of the city wall is 12 metres wide, you even can ride a bicycle on the wall if you have enough time and the weather is nice. It will take you about 1.5 hours to complete whole circle and you can see the old city from different part of the city.

Shaanxi History Museum

The buildings of the Shaanxi History Museum were finished in 1991, replicating Tang dynasty style. There are four exhibition halls that show seven sections of history: from the pre-historic age about 1.5 million years ago to the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. This is the best place to discover the real Shaanxi history and culture.

Tang dynasty music show and the Jiaozi (Dumplings) Banquet

The professional dancers and music players as well as a group of professional folk-men perform the Tang dynasty music and dance in Xi'an. This is a show that collects the traditional culture and the wonderful performances. When you see the show you can enjoy the dumplings banquet as well. The bright colour of the performances, the nice music, the skill of the folk-man, all of these will give you a very good impression to Xi'an and Chinese culture.

Big wild goose pagoda

Big wild goose pagoda is one of two complete buildings still standing from the Tang dynasty, dating back to 652 year ago. It is 64 meters high, 7stories with a square base under the pagoda. The pagoda has been standing in an ancient temple for a long time, Da Cien temple which is a Buddhism temple for more than 1300 years. The Buddhism scriptures and the statues were taken from India to Xi'an, and have become precious heritage today, being preserved in the Big Wild Goose Pagoda now. From the top of the pagoda, you can see the south suburb of Xi'an.

The Forest of Steles museum

The Forest of Steles was set up in 1087. Over 3,000 stone steles are preserved, covering the Qin and Han dynasties until the Qing dynasty. Now it is regarded as the one place reserving the most ancient stone steles in China. The museum we see today is located at the site of the Confucian Temple, including seven exhibition rooms, six epitaph corridors and one steles pavilion.
